We actually aren’t in touch with our bodies

In many ways, we actually aren’t in touch with our bodies all that much. We often don’t sense as much as we could; certainly not as much as the tribal peoples did, whose lives relied much more on their instincts. They didn’t sit in front of a computer all day. They had to be tuned into their environment to be ready to escape from bears or tigers, and to gather and hunt for food.

After a tsunami in Asia wiped out the population of entire coastal villages, it was discovered that no animals except the ones in captivity had died in it. They also found 2 remote indigenous villages had not lost a single person. Since they didn’t have the noise & busyness of civilization clamoring for their attention, they were able to take the signals of the animals around them & evacuate along with them.
